What is the offer rate for Chinese applicants at UCL?

In the 2024/25 UCAS cycle, applicants in the group "Nationality: Chinese (mainland)" made 17,839 applications and received 7,406 offers, 41.5% per application, against 34.8% for all applicants: 6.7 percentage points higher than all applicants. The gap differs by course and by year; see the comparison above. Totals exclude 340 cells the university suppressed (5 or fewer each).

Where do the course-level figures come from?

From UCL's response to a Freedom of Information request (FOI 025-431), which lists applications and offers for every undergraduate course code in 2024/25, for all applicants and for applicants of Chinese nationality. It has no figures for places, and it includes study-abroad (Affiliate) and Grad Dip codes, listed as printed.

Why don't the department and course figures match?

The department table comes from UCL's published application data PDFs, which exclude Clearing; the 2024/25 PDF abbreviates department names, so one department can appear as two rows (one per year). The course table comes from a different file with a different scope, so do not add or compare the two directly.
