Privacy Policy
Wisesprout is operated by Relin Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales【公司注册号待填】. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use wisesprout.co.uk and our programmes, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
1 · What we collect
Account information: name, email address, password (stored as a hash), language preference, and your role (parent/student). The account holder is the parent or guardian.
Order and booking information: the programmes and sessions you book, subjects, scheduling preferences, and order history. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your full card details.
Content you give us: messages on order message boards, coursework and homework files you upload, and anything you submit through our forms (booking a call, mentor applications, newsletter sign-up).
Service records: emails we send you (delivery logs), session schedules, and certificates we issue.
2 · Why we use it (lawful bases)
To deliver the services you book — matching, scheduling, teaching materials, certificates (performance of a contract).
To run the platform safely — authentication, fraud prevention, moderation of message boards (legitimate interests).
To send transactional email about your orders and sessions (performance of a contract), and the occasional newsletter only if you subscribe (consent — withdraw any time).
To meet legal obligations — accounting and tax records.
3 · Who processes it for us
We use a small set of service providers, each bound by data-processing terms: Supabase (database and authentication; data hosted in London, UK), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Vercel (hosting), and Airtable (form intake). We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
4 · Children
Our programmes are for school-age students, but accounts are held by parents or guardians. We collect student information (name, year group, subjects) from the account-holding parent in order to deliver teaching. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children under 13.
5 · International transfers
Our database is hosted in the UK. Some providers (e.g. Stripe, Vercel, Resend) may process data outside the UK; where they do, transfers are protected by UK-approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.
6 · How long we keep it
Account and order records: for as long as your account is active, and afterwards as required for legal and accounting purposes (typically 6 years for transaction records). Uploaded coursework and messages: for the life of the related order plus a reasonable archival period【具体期限待定】. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see §7).
7 · Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Write to info@wisesprout.co.uk — we respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
8 · Cookies
We use essential cookies only: authentication session cookies that keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add analytics later, this policy will be updated first.
