Do I need a tutor who has personally taken the PAT?
Not necessarily. What matters is a tutor who understands the underlying physics deeply and knows the PAT's style — core principles applied to unfamiliar problems. Our physicists teach the physics first, then the test.
Is the PAT still the right test to prepare for?
Check your course's current requirements first. From 2027 entry, courses that previously used the PAT are moving to the ESAT. If your course now asks for the ESAT, start from our ESAT page — the physics preparation carries straight over.
How are sessions run?
One to one, online or in London, booked by the session from your wallet. Your tutor is an active PhD or postdoc researcher — not a former student teaching on the side.
