Beyond the numbers: the requirements
An offer rate only tells you how competitive a course is. Check first that your subjects and grades meet the entry requirements.
What is the offer rate for Chinese applicants at Oxford?
In the 2025 cycle, applicants in the group "Domicile: outside the UK and EU" made 7,600 applications and received 784 offers, 10.3% per application, against 16.7% for all applicants: 6.4 percentage points lower than all applicants. The gap differs by course and by year; see the comparison above.
Does Oxford publish course-level figures for Chinese applicants?
No. Oxford's annual report gives university-wide figures by area of domicile (UK, EU, outside the EU) and, for 2023–2025 combined, the main countries and regions: applicants domiciled in China made 6,025 applications and 559 were admitted. The course chart on this page covers all applicants only, as applicants per place.
How should I read applicants per place?
Table 1.2 of Oxford's report lists the 10 courses with the most applicants per place among its 25 largest courses (2023–2025 combined). A higher number means more competition; it is not an offer rate and cannot be turned into one person's chance of admission.
