What this data leaves out

  • Undergraduate degree programmes only. The one-year General Course (study abroad) is not included.
  • The Tableau exports cut long programme names short with “..”; they are kept as printed.
  • Programmes are listed with 0 in years they did not run, as in the official tables.

Beyond the numbers: the requirements

An offer rate only tells you how competitive a course is. Check first that your subjects and grades meet the entry requirements.

FAQ
What is the offer rate for Chinese applicants at LSE?

In the 2025/26 academic year, applicants in the group "Nationality: Chinese (mainland)" made 4,099 applications and received 764 offers, 18.6% per application, against 16.1% for all applicants: 2.5 percentage points higher than all applicants. The gap differs by course and by year; see the comparison above. Totals exclude 9 cells the university suppressed (5 or fewer each).

What is the difference between nationality and domicile here?

LSE publishes both. Nationality is the passport; domicile is where the applicant normally lives when applying, so a Chinese national doing A-levels in the UK may be UK-domiciled. The toggle on the chart shows the same programmes under both definitions.

What are entrants?

LSE's third stage is the number of new students who actually registered, not the number who accepted an offer. The one-year General Course (study abroad) is not included on this page.
