OCR GCSE (9–1) Gateway Science Combined Science A (J250)
OCR GCSE Gateway Science Combined Science A (J250) is a double award worth two GCSEs, assessed by six written papers: two each in biology, chemistry and physics. Every paper is 1 hour 10 minutes, 60 marks and 16.7% of the qualification. Students sit either all six Foundation tier papers (components 01–06, grades 5–5 to 1–1) or all six Higher tier papers (07–12, grades 9–9 to 4–4). The second paper in each science includes synoptic assessment, and practical skills from at least 16 practical activities are examined across all papers.
