Pearson Edexcel GCSE (9–1) Combined Science (1SC0)
Pearson Edexcel GCSE (9–1) Combined Science (1SC0) is a double-award GCSE assessed by six written papers: two each in biology, chemistry and physics. Every paper is 1 hour 10 minutes, 60 marks and 16.67% of the qualification, with multiple-choice, short-answer, calculation and extended open-response questions; calculators are allowed. All papers are set at Foundation tier (grades 1–1 to 5–5) or Higher tier (4–4 to 9–9), and students must sit all six at the same tier. Results use a 17-grade scale from 9–9 to 1–1. Students must also carry out 18 mandatory core practicals.
