About this qualification

AQA GCSE Combined Science: Trilogy (8464)

AQA GCSE Combined Science: Trilogy (8464) is a double-award GCSE assessed by six written papers, two each in biology, chemistry and physics. Every paper lasts 1 hour 15 minutes, is worth 70 marks and carries 16.7% of the qualification. Biology covers topics 1–7, chemistry topics 8–17 and physics topics 18–24. All papers are tiered: Foundation Tier students can achieve grades 1-1 to 5-5 and Higher Tier students 4-4 to 9-9. The qualification is graded on a 17-point scale from 1-1 to 9-9, and the written papers include questions on the required practical activities.
